Gone Fishin’
I’ll be out of town for a week so expect very few updates for the next few days.
I promise to return with plenty of pictures and possibly some souvenirs for a few of you.
Till then, watch your semicolons and take care!
Someone has to surf the net while you’re working

Yes. Yes that is the sound of a thousand jealous fanboy hearts breaking.
Why? Go to Spit on a Stranger and read her July 20th post. Congratulations Time Girl!
From the good folks over at Offword Designs. Yes, that Leeroy. Good jokes don’t get old, they just get made into t-shirts.
Beta testing for Windows Vista has started; it is Microsoft’s latest version of their Windows operating system.
According to PC World article they’re promising big things:
Microsoft’s design goals for Windows Vista fell into three major categories: instilling a “new level of confidence in your PC” by improving security, privacy, performance, reliability, and ease of deployment; bringing clarity to the organization and use of information; and “seamlessly connecting you to people and devices.”
Of the three, improving user confidence was at the top of the list at the pre-beta workshop. “We have to nail the fundamentals first,” says Windows client director Austin Wilson. Microsoft is determined to avoid “the patch management nightmare” and to seal off vulnerabilities “so that things like Blaster don’t happen in the future,” he adds.
Now if they could just get rid of the paperclip in their next version of Office …
I stole this meme off of Noodle.
What?!? They are legitimate content for a blog. Don’t look at me like that.

James Doohan, better known as Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in the Original Star Trek series passed away today.
It’s always a sad sad day when you have to say goodbye to one of your geekdom heroes.
Belinda Bedekovic rocks the keytar like no other. Don’t believe me? You obviously haven’t seen her rendition of Tornado.
The song is stuck in my head …
I picked up Alien Hominid for a steal yesterday. An awesome game with a great visual style and fast paced gameplay that is a nod back to Contra and Metal Slug.
Except you can rip the heads off those evil FBI agents. Woop!
If you’d like to sample a bit of the gameplay, check out the origins of the game over at Newgrounds.com. Yup, that’s right. It started as a flash based webgame, but belive me it’s much better in is console incarnation.
[Image blantantly stolen from the Alien Hominid website. Please don't send the Mutant Pudding Monster after me!]
Emma pointed me to Pixelgirlshop for their iPod accessories. I’m loving the website for their Sushi Pillows!
Imagine getting a big wooden boat for your coffee table and having these babies sitting ontop of it. Awesome!
