Ten pairs of jeans in my closet and none of them fit. They all just hang loosely off my waist and would easily slide off if I gave my bum a wiggle. Perfect if I were a teenage Emo/Sk8r/B-Boy kid; not quite idea for Casual Friday’s in the Financial District.
The only pair that comes close to fitting has gapping hole in the lower crotch region; invisible when you’re walking about but noticeable if I happen to be sitting across from you. They will have to do until I can make an emergency run to The Gap at lunch.
Not quite the Super Tornado pitch from Battlefield Baseball, but it gets the job done no less.

Matt Reynolds will be making a documentary about his search for the best buffalo wings in the state of New York. The lovely Maria has been doing the same thing around Toronto for the past few years. Minus the camera crew unfortunately. She could have beat Mr. Reynolds to the punch.
NSFW due to coarse language. A good way to warm up to the upcoming remake though.

Start your morning off with a good brain teaser. This Japanese IQ Test Flash game has my head spinning. If you need the rules you ca find them here but you can figure them out on your own pretty quickly.
Give me a few more minutes (hours?) to mull over it and I’m sure I can figure this one out. Maybe more Brain Age training will help!

UPDATE:

Mission Complete! I figured it out right after I finished the initial post. Well … more like stumbled upon the solution. Now to see if I can re-create the answer instead of depending on blind luck.
Make Blog asks: What happens when you light 30,000 matches at the same time? Poof!
There was a mini-tournament at my Arnis Dojo this weekend. It was intended to be very casual, just a chance for the students of a couple of schools to get together for practice and more in-ring experience. I felt the event was quite successful. Everyone had a good time and managed to learn a thing or two in the ring. I know I have a list of things I discovered that I need to work on.
There was also the added bonus of having my family there to watch me fight for the first time. I have been taking Filipino Martial Arts classes for well over a year now, but there has never been a chance for me to showcase what I’ve learned to them during that time. It was a bit nerve racking at first, but it was also good to hear them cheer for me when I was going toe to toe with a fellow combatant in the ring.
My mom could not watch me fight. After the first few seconds of my first fight she had to retreat away from the ring and cheer for me from a distance. I don’t blame her as I am sure it would be hard to see your son being hit on the head with a stick. In between matches she was very supportive though, and I am very thankful for her being there even when it was difficult to bear.
Dad was surprised with how much I had learned in such a short time. He complimented me on my speed and what I was doing and I could tell he enjoyed watching me fight. Being a boxing fan himself, Dad even gave me some advice between rounds on in-the ring strategies and some game plans. I was very appreciative of that enthusiasm in my martial arts and in his approval of what I was doing.
My brother, the WWE / UFC fan that he is, really enjoyed himself. I could hear him cheering during almost every match that day, even when he was helping out with the tournament voluntarily. That support did not go unnoticed by me and I am very thankful for it. I know I’m sometimes hard on him for being a bum, but all teenagers are. When it comes to the things that are important to me in my life, I know I can count on him to be there and help when needed.
As for my performance during the tournament, well it wasn’t so bad for a first time. One win and two losses in the single stick competition put me well out of contention. I still managed to learn a lot about how I fight; what skills I should be capitalizing on and what items I need to work on. Fighting students from other schools also helped give me more insight. If you train with the same set of classmates month after month, you tend to learn how each one fights and you develop a style to counter each of them. Brand new opponents help to break that routine, and they make it easier to point out the holes in your style as well.
There is more to write about this experience, but this will serve as a good overview for now. I don’t remember if anyone had bothered to take photos during my fights but I’ll be sure to post them up if such photos exist.

Speak of the devil. Desktop Tower Defense 1.5 was just released this afternoon. Lots of new goodies with this version, including:
I am quite tempted to try out a few games right now, despite what I said about playing during work hours.
