The Unheralded Gross Out Post

Q: Is it possible to blow your nose so hard you’ll cause it to bleed?

A: Yes, quite profusely in fact. And it is not the kind of nosebleed that goes away quickly, oh no. Once it has stopped it will remain very tender and will be easily coaxed into bleeding again with even the gentlest of nose blows.

It is also the kind of nosebleed that won’t go away over night. You can get it to stop just before you go to bed, but when you wake up in the morning and blow that schnoz again watch out! Another bloody mess for you to clean up, literally.

A great way to start any morning!

What one little girl would do if she saw a monster

It is good to see the youth of today taking a no-crap stance on the Monster front. No more hiding under the covers or running to your parent’s bed. The line must be drawn here! Who will stand and fight? She will! Oh yes, she will!

… oh and possibly NSFW.

The Suppositional Getting Better Post

Okay I will admit I looked that one up. And yes I am getting better. No fever, no swelling in the throat, no pressure in my sinuses. My nose is still congested from time to time and I still have that annoying hacking cough, but both are under control thanks to plenty of tissues and cough lozenges can’t take care of.

So baring barring any white spots in the back of my throat I should be done with this summer bug by the end of the week. Just in time for a big family BBQ up at my parents house. I would be super pissed if I had to spend another weekend with the folks without my taste buds.

The Ubiquitous Sick Post

Perhaps ubiquitous is too strong a word …

I am feeling pretty much the same as I did yesterday. My throat has settled down but now I’m left with a cough that brings up pretty little phlegm presents for me to enjoy. Yum!

Sorry, you probably didn’t want to know that.

My sinuses are definitely congested. The pile of spent tissues next to me is a testament to that. I don’t think I have a fever anymore but there is this overall feeling of blah I can’t shake.

L was kind enough to bring me some soups, fruits and other “get healthy” foodstuffs yesterday. Fully stocked with supplies I am determined to get plenty of rest and get over this stupid summer bug!

Wish me luck … just not in person. ;)

The Obligatory Sick Post

Pardon my absence.

After a wonderful weekend with L I was hit with a rather unpleasant cold. It started with an uncomfortable lump in the back of my throat. I tried to brush it off as allergies but it grew into a full blown swollen throat by Sunday evening. Monday brought on a slight fever and an over all feeling of blah. I tried working from home, partly to get some rest but also to keep whatever I had away from my co-workers. Today I woke up feeling pretty much the same so I decided to cut my losses and just call it a full sick day.

So far I’ve gone through two tissue boxes and who knows how many litres of water. As of right now my throat isn’t that swollen anymore but I can feel pressure in my sinuses which for the record is not that pleasant. I hope to get over these symptoms soon because I’m starting to get a little stir crazy in my room. For now I’ve got to dig up some lunch. I think I have some soup in the kitchen but I am not in the mood for something cream based. Perhaps I’ll go to the corner store and pick up some overpriced ramen? Mmm, I haven’t had that since we moved out of The Ronces!

Three cheers!

Congratulations Roomie and Mrs. Roomie! I couldn’t be more happier for the both of you. Here’s to a bright and happy future together.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

The Rapture is upon me!

I downloaded Bioshock through Steam overnight. This morning I managed to play through the first 5 minutes of the game and I already like what I see. I love how they (literally) drop you into the fire right at the start of the game, leaving you to figure out how to wriggle your way out. Of course the atmosphere of the game is great! I can’t wait to dive right into this one.

Keep on Buggy Rollin’

Driving down the Grimselpass in your car: amazing.

Skating down the Grimselpass head first in a Buggy Rollin suite: So. Awesome.

I have to say the music they chose for the video fits it perfectly as well. I’ll need to take a look at that Muse album.

Never go without cutlery again!

I am very tempted to buy this Titanium Spork from Snow Peak.

Titanium Spork

I can keep it in my bag and carry it with me just in case. You never know when you will encounter a dining utensil emergency!

Standing tall on the wings of my dreams

It is surprising how much of the Perfect Strangers theme song I remember. I can not even recall the last time I saw the show but I can instantly mimic the harmonica solo at the end of the song.

Get out of the city!
