He should definitely consider using “The French Clapper” as well

Hey Toast! There’s another fellow out there on the interwebs using your call sign/nickname. Crazy thing is, he happens to be the Guinness World Record holder for “Most Claps in a Minute”

Kent French is pretty amazing. I wonder if he could translate that technique into palm strike a’la E. Honda’s Hundred Hands Slap.

… hey wait a tick, I know a “Kent” as well!

Real-life Superhero?

The following video claims to be a tribute to a “real-life superhero” that came to the defense of a teenager who was being attacked by 4 thugs.

I agree with some of the comments on the video’s YouTube page, something about the video isn’t right. Your average camera phones should be able to produce better quality colour video than the one seen here. Also, why haven’t we heard anything about this incident in the news? It sounds like a very newsworthy piece to me.

I am leaning towards some sort of attempt at viral marketing or some kids just trying to mess around with the blogosphere. When I saw the happy face logo mid way through the clip I immediately thought of The Comedian and the upcoming Watchmen movie but I highly doubt it.

Things taste better when they …

  • … are served on a stick
  • … are deep fried
  • … are covered/dipped in cheese
  • … are eaten with a titanium spork
  • … are free!

My lunch involved 4 of the 5 items listed above. Guess which ones.

He needed to throw down some Yoga Flame

A collection of the fight scenes from the move “Kung Fu vs. Yoga” … dubbed in French. Don’t ask me why, I just find them on YouTube.

Even though the “Yoga” guy was supposed to be the villain of the movie, I couldn’t help but cheer for him during those fights. I just don’t believe he actually fell into their trap at the end when the two Kung Fu guys were wearing horrible costumes. I haven’t seen such a bad make-up job since the “Iraqi Disguise” from Team America.

If I brought my lunch today I wouldn’t have to ask this question

The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty is staging a Mass Pan Handling of the PATH today, starting at 11:00 AM. The Concourse level of my office building makes up part of the PATH. Like many people working in the downtown core, I use it at noon to pick up my lunch for the day. Today I bought my lunch early in hopes of avoiding the whole Mass Pan Handling experience.

Does that make me a bad person?

The Flow of Pushing Hands

Here is a nice example of Pushing Hands. While the video starts off with pretty basic techniques, it builds up to some pretty impressive entries and take downs near the end.

I don’t have any experience with Pushing Hands and we don’t learn anything like this in my dojo. However, the flow demonstrated by these two practitioners is something I try to strive for in my marital arts.

Properties of both a Liquid and a Solid

Fill a small pool with a non-Newtonian fluid, add two excited Spanish television hosts and wacky high jinks will ensue.

I like how the liquid forms long stretched strands like pulled taffy when they try to pull themselves out of the mess. The video makes me want to grab some corn starch on the way home tonight and make a batch of this stuff to play with.

I always loved the theme song though

I was never a big fan of the original Anime. However, I have to admit the trailer for the upcoming movie looks pretty sweet.

You really should watch the clip in HD format but I can’t seem to find that online. Hopefully Apple Trailers will post one up soon.

Update: Ask and ye shall receive: HD Trailer for the movie via Apple Trailers

To keep forever? Forever ever?

I am not ashamed to say the following video brought a little tear to my eye.

This boy is amazing. Even when he gets his big ticket birthday presents he is thinking about his parents and how they managed to afford them. At the end of the video I’m pretty sure he’s trying to give his dad some of his own cash to make up for it. Dang!

Everyday Normal Guy

Jon Lajoie rocks the mic with a hardcore rap about being pretty plain and average …

He has the look and feel down to a tee, although that makes it NSFW due to coarse language. I would say it isn’t “Laugh out Loud” funny, but it is very entertaining. Catchy too, it’s already stuck in my head and I have only watched it twice.
