Man chops eight chopsticks with a dollar bill

Is this a case of some fast sleight of hand, or has he learned how to channel his chakra into the bill to increase it’s cutting ability? You decide!

Quake On Me

See more funny videos at CollegeHumor

Kotaku points out a mod for Quake that changes the art to make it look like Ah-Ha’s “Take On Me” video. Pretty neat, although he left the player’s gun and the enemies as origami like paper dolls. I would have liked to have seen them recreated as penciled in sketch art as well.

Zombie Meme Redux

Approaching this meme with a more realistic spin:

  1. Weapon = a Filipino Blade. I have very limited real world experience with firearms so I am afraid I won’t be very effective with them. Granted it isn’t hard to hit something with a shotgun, but could I trust myself to be able to reload the gun during the heat of battle? I’ll stick to melee weapons since I have more experience with them from my Arnis class. The kind of Blade is still up to debate. Do I want the hard hitting power of a Panabas or should I go with blade that is better for close quarter fighting like a Ginunting? So may pretty toys to choose from …
  2. Song = “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito. No change here!
  3. Person = Angelina Jolie, She has way more experience firing a gun thanks to her many action movie rolls roles so I see her covering my back from a sniping position or providing suppressive fire to cover our retreats. Plus it doesn’t hurt to be trapped in a mall with a hawt mama. (Literally!) An alternate would have been Mila Jovovich for the same resasons, but the recent trailers for Wanted have swayed the vote against her.

Zombie Meme

I was watching the latest podcast from the Totally Rad Show and in their view mail segment they introduced me to a new Zombie related meme:

You are trapped in a mall surrounded by zombies. What one weapon would you have by your side? What song would be playing during the epic battle ahead of you? Who is the one person you would want fighting by your side?

Are we talking realistic here or are we including any person or item from comics, movies, TV and film? If we’re going all out balls to the walls my picks are:

  1. Weapon = Power Ring from the Green Lantern Corps. An object of cosmic power that is only limited by my imagination? Sign me up! I can think of plenty of ways to take out the hordes of the undead.
  2. Song = “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito. I have a soft spot for The Karate Kid so this song always gets me pumped. I’m not ashamed to admit it is sometimes in the back of my head when I am sparring in class.
  3. Person = T-1000, reprogrammed to protect my life of course. He can morph into any slicing or dicing tool we need to clear that mall of it’s ghoul infestation. On top of that there is no threat of him getting infected with the zombie virus since he’s an Android.

I’ll need a little more time to think about a more realistic answer.

Weird Al Yankovic Polkarama!

I just ran across this medley of Polka covers from Weird Al and I am loving it!

I am tempted to take his cover of Candy Shop and turn it into a ring tone just for fun.

Commuter Hi-jinks

During my daily commute I often find myself standing next to someone who has their headphones set so loud I can clearly hear the music they are listening to. Often I catch myself entertaining the idea of dancing or singing along to the music they are listening to, just to see what kind of reaction I could get from them.

Lucky Starscream

It is like a train wreck … once it started I couldn’t turn away …

If you don’t get the reference, this is the original sans evil robots bent on stealing the Earth’s resources.

Update: Looks like the original was blocked but here’s a copy off Gametrailers.com

Best Game Ever

This is my favourite skit from ImprovEverywhere, called Best Game Ever. In this episode they try to make a random little league game feel like a MLB game. The stands are filled with fans, professional play by play announcers called the game, a Jumbotron was set up in the out field and there was even a visit from the Goodyear Blimp!

I love how that one player hams up an injury just to get some camera time. You’ll do just fine in the big leagues kid!

It may not be thirty lives, but it still is pretty neat

Any time you are in your Google Reader try typing in the Konami Code using your keyboard and see what happens.

What’s Opera Doc?

A list of Ten Operas You Didn’t Know You Already Like from Neatorama. The first few opera pieces on the post provided a great soundtrack for my morning today. I plan on closing this evening by finishing up the rest of the videos.
